What started out as a conversation with a friend about great venues in Southern California to get married at turned into a popular section of our website. Here's a great opportunity for you to get some legwork done on checking out some great Southern California venues. We're not tied to the venues in anyway which means we can talk freely about them. All we ask is that you keep us in mind for your wedding photography.
We wrote our first venue review around 2004 and we started paying attention to how the venues dealt with the bride and groom, how the guests seem to like the venue and how the overall success of the event was compared to other venues we've visited. The bad one's we don't bother to mention. This website is currently being upgraded and massively improved. We have newer places we've visited in the past couple of years that will be added. So please check back frequently and watch this list grow. Some of the older reviews are being updated with newer images and information because things do change over time and we want to present current information. Some of the older venue reviews will be moved to a "Older Reviews" status toward the bottom of this page because we haven't seen the venue recently.
Many people have commented how useful these reviews have been to help them find a venue. This is not meant to be a comprehensive list of the many thousands of places in Southern California to hold a wedding ceremony and/or reception. Instead it's meant to help you get a general idea of what's out there. One bride went to the Ponte Winery which was 100 miles away, and really liked it. But she fell in love with another winery down the street from Ponte. She said these reviews helped her narrow down her find her dream venue which was a major win because she was very new to the area. We've heard the same from others who live out of the area. Keep this link in mind when you have friends who are getting married and need help finding venues.
