Could this possibly be the perfect hotel? People often get confused about what to look for in a hotel for their wedding. The first and most important point is that Ayres Suites in Diamond Bar simply doesn’t host wedding reception. And it may seem a bit strange to talk up a wedding venue that can’t host your reception but the point remains that if you have your wedding reception at the Diamond Bar Center or the Diamond Bar Golf Course you’ll have a great time, and a great venue, but at some point you’ll have to leave. Where are you going to go?
I’ve been to some mega hotels in the area and they often don’t make great places to stay before and after weddings. Sometime the hotel is large enough to be the complete destination that keeps people entertained enough that they don’t choose to leave. Places like the Hotel Del in San Diego and most of the larger casino’s in Vegas come to mind. In Southern California we don’t have as many mega hotel properties as you would imagine. You have a lot of Hyatt Long Beach style hotels that are large, an interesting, but when you have to get in your car and leave it’s time consuming.
There are a few reasons why I love the Ayres Suites in Dimond Bar.
Freeway Close- It’s near the 57 and the 60 freeways. Once you get off at Grand Avenue your are only a few minutes to the hotel’s parking lot. I use a half an hour rule of thumb which means that if your wedding reception is more than half an hour from your hotel you are staying too far away. If you are having an evening wedding reception this means that you can run as far west as East LA, As far east as West Riverside, As far north as Duarte ( I know, not that far, but you are fiarly north anyway) and far enough south to cover most of North Orange County. Privacy- Parking is free and plentiful. Once in the lot you are in the lobby nearly instantly and just mere seconds to your room. You don’t have the valet standing in front wanting to park your car, and then the bellhop at the door wanting to take your bags up to your room. No Maynard, once you are at the hotel you are pretty much just left alone. Simplicity: You can count on someone forgetting something such as bobby pins. You can pay three times more than what they are worth at a hotel gift shop in the larger hotels or stay at the Ayres Suites in Diamond Bar and jump in your car and be at Target in 45 seconds. And you know that you will get at least three more text messages to pick up other things once you are there. The attractions are elsewhere: Anybody who has ever traveled more than a few times knows the feeling of overpaying for a lackluster hotel meal. If you are with a group of friends the chances are very, very, very small that you will stay on property to dine or drink. You have some amazing dining options in the area. You are less than ten minutes from some of the best Asian food in the world, or at least North America. You have a Chilli’s within walking distance. You can stagger back to your room in about five minutes. You can totally let loose without worrying about designated drivers or DUI’s. And for the little ones, you are about 20 minutes from the happiest plae on earth, Fry’s electronics. Oh, you are about that far from Disneyland as well.
The Suites are Sweet! This is a beautiful property. I really love the rooms. They have a very calm look about them, the kinda place that you would just like to relax and sleep in. They are distinctive looking enough to not look like every other hotel room you’ve ever stayed in. They have a great view of the Diamond Bar Golf Course in the daytime and the freeway lights at night. The beds are very comfortable, or so I hear.
The Ayres are good people. The Ayres family has been generous with their proprieties for signature gathering for initiatives of Los Angeles Radio talk show hosts John and Ken. When there is a legitimate need to raise funds for various causes the Ayres family has not only opened their hotels but also have open check books with generous donations. They seem to treat their employees very well. Every visit to any of the Ayres properties has always been a very good experience.
For our clients:
The one thing I can tell you is that I don’t make any money from writing these reviews, or suggesting a certain vendor. Call me stupid if you like but I simply don’t believe in taking money for a referral. The reason why is because sooner or later I would be selling my integrity to make a few more dollars. This is what I tell people publicly, and you can ask people who know me, this is what I say privately to them as well.
When someone approached me about writing about the Ayres property in Diamond Bar I already had a great feeling about the location. When they asked what they could do for me I said one thing, give my clients a good deal.
The straightforward deal is established with the sales manager. There is no record of it in the computer. If you ask for the Lifetime Images deal they won’t know what you are talking about at the front desk. I need to drop them an e-mail, it needs to be handled in advance.
Unfortunately this arrangement is only available for booked clients of Lifetime Images Photography. Even without the deal we can establish the prices are still great and you will not be disappointed!
